He arrived today around 1pm. He will take the remainder of today and tomorrow to rest up before begining a busy week of site seeing.

Boomer Sooner!

Kingdmgirl, Redbud, Sassykatt, Rallywhit and I met in Oklahoma City for the FlatGlenn exchange. We had a great time showing him around the Bricktown area of Oklahoma City.

This morning he started the Tulsa leg of his jouney by being a guest on our local talk radio show!

Pictures coming soon!

then me and glenn got ready for the news. he's in make up

he wanted to take a look in the control room.

then he went out on the set. the regular anchors were there. (actually mike, the guy anchor was really mad about this and REALLY didn't want his pic taken with glenn beck and then he called him a bad name... oh well. he's a liberal tree hugging hippie Smile )

he got sick of the tree huggers and wanted to run the camera

then he learned how to run the teleprompter

this is me and him on the news set

he met a few of my "coworkers" Smile

and that is the end of his adventures at the ABC 4 news studios

Well, folks, being a lowly Corky and all, it's going to be a long while before I get FG for myself, but I did hook up with Gina (not like that!) at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City today. She has some pictures she took and you'll see those soon, but here are the ones off my camera!

This is FG inside the South Visitors Center with a replica of the golden Angel Moroni that sits on the center east spire of the Salt Lake Temple.

Here's FG in the world-famous Tabernacle, home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. While we were there, some missionaries gave a pin-drop demonstration showing you can hear a pin drop from anywhere inside the tabernacle. It's amazing.

Here's FG outside the Tabernacle. The building has an a,img]mazing history... it was finished in the 1870s and was designed by a bridge architect. Much of the truss work of the dome is held together, even today, by wooden pegs and leather straps. The building was rededicated earlier this year after a renovation project that included structural improvements for earthquake safety.

Here is Glenn by a model of ancient Jeruselum in the North Visitors Center at Temple Square.

Finally! It's me! And FG, of course.

FG also visited with a couple of the friendly sister missionaries at the north entrance of Temple Square. Since FG is already a member of the LDS church, they didn't offer to tell him more about their faith.

There's me and Gina (with FG) in front of the LDS Conference Center which was completed about 7 years ago. This building, used for bi-annual general conferences of the church and other functions, is large enough to fit a Boeing 747 inside the main auditorium. Thanks to the kind sister missionary (on left in previous photo) from Australia who obliged us by taking our photo.

That's Gina and Flat Glenn with the waterfall off the roof of the Conference Center in the background. All the water there is recycled and the roof features a serene garden with pathways from which visitors have excellent views of Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake valley.

and here is fg with said lights

Flat Glenn’s visit with the lanatic began shortly before Christmas. Flat Glenn arrived here in Arkansas only to hit the road and head to Texas. We spent the week with family in north Texas.

Here’s Flat Glenn with three of my favorite kids at the Texas Visitor’s Center.

Here’s Flat Glenn checking out the Christmas tree at the lanatic’s in-laws’ house.

Here’s the little guy checking out Flat Glenn checking out the Christmas tree.

While in Denison, Flat Glenn wanted to visit President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s birthplace.

Eisenhower was the thirty-fourth President of the United States of America.

Before he was President, he commanded the Allied Forces landing in North Africa in November 1942; on D-Day, 1944, he was Supreme Commander of the troops invading France.

Flat Glenn likes Ike.

Flat Glenn, the lanatic and crew bid Texas happy trails and headed into Oklahoma.

Our first stop was Durant, Oklahoma.

It’s a really happening place! Home of the world’s largest peanut! Rolling Eyes

Flat Glenn was worn out from all the excitement of seeing such a large legume, so we continued our journey north. It was dark by the time we passed through Checotah, Oklahoma, home of the 2005 American Idol, Carrie Underwood.

Flat Glenn soon fell fast asleep and spent the rest of the trip dreaming of Carrie.

Keep an eye out for photos of Flat Glenn’s visit to Arkansas!

Flat Glenn started getting cabin fever and finally convinced me to make a day trip to Little Rock. Here he is at Little Rock Central High School.

They just don’t make high schools with this kind of architectural detail anymore.

Little Rock Central High was the site of an historic occasion in the civil rights movement. Even the gas station across the street has been preserved as an historic site.

Flat Glenn checked out the visitors’ center to get some more details about LRCHS.

Hey! It’s President Dwight D. Eisenhower again! Small world, eh?

No visit to Little Rock would be complete without a visit to the Bill Clinton Presidential Library. Flat Glenn left his wallet at home, so we didn’t go inside.

Next, we cruised over to the Arkansas State Capitol.

Next to the Capitol, there is a bronze tribute to the Little Rock Nine. They are the nine kids who broke the barrier of segregation in Arkansas in 1957.

We finished out our day by visiting the Pulaski County Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge Murray Lock and Dam.

The pedestrian bridge spans the Arkansas River.

It is also known as The Big Dam Bridge.

Thanks. I'm glad he made it safely. Here are some more pics.

I thought I’d give those of you who haven’t met Flat Glenn in person a peek behind the curtain.

Here’s Flat Glenn bonding with my furbaby, Paisley.

FG and I watched Glenn’s fill-in host on the tv show.

Here’s Flat Glenn and his passport.

Now we’re going to look inside the passport. I’ll break it into a couple of posts. There are several pages now.

So now it’s time for Glenn to pack up and hit the road for his trip to Georgia.

Here he is with all his gear. He’s got his high tech customized carrying case, his passport and an envelope for passport overflow and the duct tape shipping container to keep his head from exploding as he is shipped through liberal territories.

Flat Glenn enters his carrying case.

Flat Glenn’s shipping container with the passport and overflow.

ALL ABOARD!!!

Installing Flat Glenn’s airbag.

Batten down the hatches!

Goodbye Flat Glenn. It was nice having you around.

So...what's the deal? Where are the continued adventures of Flat Glenn? I know he didn't stop with Clyattvillan. Plus, there are quite a few pics missing from that visit.

Come on people! Get on the ball! Wink
